Dr. Ferdie Pacheco was born in Tampa, Florida in 1927, with deep ancestral roots in Spain.  Dr. Pacheco has been called a Renaissance Man because of his multifaceted career.  He has been successful as a pharmacist, as a medical doctor and as the "Fight Doctor" in boxing, working with 12 world champions, among them 17 years with Muhammad Ali.  He as also worked as a boxing commentator for NBC, Showtime and Univision, winning two Emmys.  

As an artist, his aggressive use of vivid slashing colorful patterns exude a sense of strength, expressing the bold and gutsy personal statements of a man who has immersed himself fully in life.  Dr Pacheco had the rare ability to transfer his experience onto canvas through intense color and brushstrokes.  His skill earned him the Gold Medal and First Prize at Tonneins, France and the First Prize, Best Colorist at the Musée du Luxembourg.  His painting of Mahatma Gandhi was featured on the 2009 UN $1.00 stamp, celebrating the International Day of Non-Violence.
